A Little History of the Hyde Park Lions' Christmas Parade

The idea of the Hyde Park Lions Club running a Christmas Parade was first introduced by a new member in September 2008. Since there was not enough time to plan an event this big, for that year, it was decided to start preparing for a parade in November of 2009.

The idea was to have a smaller hometown parade that would not compete with any of the other local parades and be of interest generally to the local people of Hyde Park and District. Christmas is for the young and young at heart so the focus was to be for the kids and by the kids and the big kids as well.

The parade has evolved somewhat over the years. The Nor'west Optimists Club expressed a strong interest in being part of this project for 2010. Since then, the partnership has worked well and the parade continues to flourish each year. So with the help of so many volunteers from countless places, we look forward to another year with a fun packed parade.

I Love a Parade! Doesn't everyone Love a Parade!
See you there!!
